I cannot recommend highly enough joining the ausrats list and the ratlist for getting excellent rat advice.

Rats only have short lives, just 2-3 years and most people can plan for this long in getting rats so they have a home for their whole life. If however an emergency has come up and you can not look after your rats for that long and need help rehoming them your best bet is to try ratswa @ optusnet.com.au for the wa rat club. However they have to take in a lot of rescues and may not always have room. Otherwise try advertising in local papers and petshops and vets and the quokka. Be careful though because there are snake owners out there who will get them to feed to the snake.
